- Longtime innovative manufacturing expert brings over 20 years’ experience to support growth and production of start-up company
Traverse City, Mich. (April 6, 2020) – Promethient, a start-up company and innovator in human-scaled climate control systems, has named Jon Dreher as its Director of Manufacturing Operations.
“As we move our Thermavance technology into volume production, Jon’s quality control, plant and supply chain management skills will play an integral role in helping to bring our production capacity and efficiencies to market,” said Bill Myers, CEO of Promethient. “His wealth of knowledge and experience make him an excellent addition to our team.”
Founded in 2014, Promethient’s proprietary technology combines revolutionary Graphene material with solid state heat pumping to directly heat or cool people, even in applications directly exposed to the elements. Promethient’s Thermavance system will be introduced this summer in vehicle seating by a leading OEM.
“I was brought in a few years ago in a consulting capacity to assist Promethient with development, tooling and production setup,” Dreher said. “Seeing their proprietary Thermavance technology and the application potential is what drew me in, I truly believe the market for this technology is vast and deep.”
Dreher, also a successful entrepreneur has started companies of his own and turned around others in record time. Jon recently served as the Executive Chairman of the Grand Traverse Area Manufacturing Council. Prior to joining Promethient Jon worked with Armor Express out of Central Lake, Michigan as the Director of Operations and before that as the Vice President of Manufacturing for TentCraft based out of Traverse City, Michigan.
Dreher holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. He and his family reside in Williamsburg Michigan.
